Default Do you think Obama has done such a good job that he should be allowed a third term?

Obama to alot of Americans has done a good job. He's getting the troops out of Afghanistan. He has gotten Obamacare through when Hillary couldn't do it years ago.
He has lowered the jobless rate. Alot of people think that this kind of activity should be rewarded with a third term. What do you think?

When was Hilary Clinton ever president? Lol

I would be open to allowing any president to run for a third term, if they could get the votes good for them. I would rather the terms be 6 years though since there is to much concern of being relected and would lead to more time governing.

That being said I would not vote him to get a third term.

No one is going to vote for President Obama if he runs for a third term. Because he can't. There is this thing called "The Constitution of The United States" that prevents it. It's called the 22nd Amendment.

The 22nd Amendment would have to be repealed in order for this to happen. This would take a nationwide vote to happen.

Robin: Hilary was tasked with reforming health care in her husband's first term and it was a debacle. Republican's blocked her plan, but not as bad as now, and the the plan itself was unworkable. It cost her a lot of credibility with people, the Democratic party and her husband.

Take care,
Mike

The thought of Obama possibly getting a third term makes me think of relocating to Canada .

If he wanted to run, and could, I would vote for him again.

I think if the Republicans stay their irrational course, they will lose more seats and don't stand a chance at the White House. It really doesn't matter who the Democrats nominate - the Republicans continue to be their own worst enemy.

Obama is much too conservative for me to desire to vote for him . He wants to appoint Ray Kelly to his cabinet . Ray Kelly is the author of the Stop and Frisk law in NYC .
Obama has thousands of troops in countries all over the world. These soldiers should be on US soil ONLY.

I think it's to early to talk about the next election.

I agree with Mike, as of right now, we still have that amendment.

Lakers Fan, hasn't crime gone down in NY?

Crime in NYC will not go down significantly until the gangs are gone .
How can this be accomplished ? Bring home all the soldiers currenly outside of the US . The money saved can be used to get rid of the gangs .
The VVAW supports this idea 100%

Imagine if Hillary chooses Bill Clinton as her VP candidate, and wins. In that scenario, she could resign and Bill would be President for a third term!

(The amendment's wording is quite precise: nobody can be elected President more than twice.)

12th Amendment: "But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States." The 22nd Amendment makes Bill Clinton ineligible to the office of President.

I wonder is Michelle Obama might give it a run in 2016?

System works fine, why change it....who in their right mind would want to expose their family to a 3rd term....

If you want to change something...do away with lifetime appointments to the SCOTUS....that's where the legacy of a POTUS is really felt..make it an 8 year term with replacement on the mid term

The question wasn't whether the Consititution should be changed, but if Obama has done such a great job that you would want him to remain as president to do a third term. Everyone who voted for him probably will say yes he has done a great job others will probably say no. My personal opinion is that the Democratic party is telling him to get out of the way of the Clinton team. So I don't have to answer the question since he is dumping all of the problems he inherited and didn't solve in the Clinton team's lap.

I agree with you, on both points. Lifetime appointments are not healthy for the republic.

Bill Clinton isn't ineligible to be President, he is ineligible to be elected President. That may be a subtle difference, but the language is precise.

And, hypothetically if not realistically, he could run for Vice-President.
