New Orleans & Southern States??

Sorry if this has been asked before but we are in N'Orlins for two days in December on our big cruise, the excursions don't look that inviting ...any suggestions? I saw somewhere you can take a trip on one of those big Mississippi river boat thingy's, I rather fancy that, is this possible?

Key west.. we just think we will walk around & Port Everglades (Ft Lauderdale??).. we don't have a clue. At Canaveral we are "doing Disney".. well you have to ....

There is a lot more to New Orleans than Bourbon St ... waste of time! However just walking around the Quarter is great! Jackson Square, the Riverwalk, the Cabildo, the Aquarium, Harrahs Casino, or the cemetery tours, the plantation tours, ride the street car up & down St Charles Ave, see the beautiful houses and neighborhoods along the way. (there is still lots of rebuilding going on because of Katrina but it's all good ) take a swamp tour, visit an alligator farm.

Don't just look at the ship's tours. Depending on what time of year you will be here determines what festival is going on. There is almost always some kind of festival Here's a link that can be helpful

Check out the events calendar at www.sunny.org, and see if the have a special event going on the day you are in Lauderdale.

The Sawgrass Mill Outlet Mall is humongus, as is, the Thunderbird Swap Shop, both nice take in, if you like to shop.

A tour of the Everglades on an air boat, is exciting..The Swimmers Hall of Fame is close by the port,and of course the beach is there to enjoy,and it's beautiful,and clean. You can also take a tour bus to enjoy the sights, or, do the http://www.junglequeen.com/ a wonderful leisurely boat ride tour down the New River, to see the homes, and, dine onboard. This is a good start for you, in my fave city....
