Default Grand Princess pools

Is it true that the pools on this ship are open 24/7? I love a swim early in the morning, and that would be a real plus.

Yes, the pools are open 24/7, except of course, when being maintained.

kurt,

You should be aware that the fact that pools on Princess vessels are accessible, it is not always prudent to swim in them. I have seen some rather significant waves in the pools, particularly at night when the ship is travelling at high speed. When you are at sea during the daytime, the bridge will maintain a course and speed that will keep the pools pretty calm.

Norm.

Norm, we saw someone injured while swimming at night. The waves were really sloshing and she got her head sloshed right into the ladder. Injured (blood and a bad headache) but not seriously. Since Kurt wants to swim in the mornijng, perhaps he could ask the purser what time the ships slow down and extend their stabilizers in the morning and wait until that is done.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'll remember to pack my surf board in case the surf is up!
