Default ROYAL PRINCESS - Just Returned from Western Europe

We were on Royal Princess's Western European Cruise...9/22 - 10/03...

We had a wonderful time...Princess won us over with the fine service and excellent food during this cruise...the ship is beautiful...not like those newer 2000 passenger types...The one word we kept thinking of to describe her is "Classic" ..

From the Captain who was very evident and approachable throughout the cruise down to the cabin steward and cocktail staff, everyone could not have been more pleasant and considerate...

A great vacation!

Your wonderful time is wonderful to hear! We are booked on the Royal for the Holy Land next April. If anyone else has had experiences on the Royal or has information about the Holy Land/Egypt itinerary, I would love to hear about it. We have been on the Regal before and after the refurbish, the Grand for a wonderful Transatlantic, and we leave on the Dawn in about ten days. Many years ago, we also sailed the Fair Princess. I guess with the Royal, we will have sampled about every class of shipthat Princess sails. I was getting a little concerned about the Royal due to her age. If she has been kept up as well as the other Princes ships we have experienced, I'm sure the ship and voyage will be wonderful.

I sailed Royal Princess on her second voyage ever. It was a Christmas cruise from San Pedro to the Mexican Riviera. We were awed by the ship.Back in 1985, it was so advanced. And still today with all outside cabins, so many with verandahs and all with full bath instead of the teeny little showers we're all used to. I'd really love to saill her again.

Glad to hear that the Royal Princess is still a great ship and pleasing people.
I took a 14 day Panama Canal cruise in 84 on the RP and thought I had gone
to heaven for sure!!! She was really something to people then with all outside
cabins, bath tubs, etc. and it is good to know she is still enjoyable. I would
sail on her again, I think. Before the Royal Princess I was on NCL and I was
shocked to see a REAL bathtub and decent bathroom! What a great ship!!!

Hi, Lou,

I ,too ,was on the same cruise as you. It was our third time on the Royal Princess. We enjoyed it also. We didn't have such luck with some of our dinner companions, but that was resolved without too much trouble. We really liked the itinerary, we have been to Dublin and Edinburgh before, but enjoyed going for a second time. We have also been on an Eastern Canada/New England cruise (in 1998) on the Royal and had a great time!

Bye for now.
Marie
