st john beach snorkel or five star beach/adventure

could someone please comment on these two excursions? we'd like to go snorkeling and understand Trunk Bay is great but we can't decide which excursion is best.Princess offers 2 similar St John excursions-the Beach Snorkel and the Five Star Beach and Snorkel adventure. From what I can tell the snorkelling part is virtually the same but how we get there is different.
Any opinions would be appreciated. We're off in just a few weeks!

Hi Linda,
OUr last trip we did the "wild thing" and that took us to St. Johns, but I understand they usually go to a different snorkel spot, so we were pretty lucky. Haven't done either of those tours, but as long as you get to St. Johns, its a lovely beach and the whole island is a paradise, so just make sure you make it there. Once you do decide on which one you want, you can pre-book the excersions through the Princess web-site or mail, fax you requests in. We were able to get what we wanted by doing it early.

What Princess ship are you cruising on? Have a great cruise:-)

RE: st john beach snorkel or five star beach/adven

We just returned from the Dawn yesterday. On Friday we were on St John at beautiful Trunk Bay. We did the (St. John Beach and Snorkel) tour. This is incredible. Trunk Bay is a U. S. National Park Wildlife Reserve. The beach is pristine fine white sand with beautiful crystal clear water. There is a lifeguard and snorkel equipment/snorkel instructors on hand to assist. This site also has a marked underwater snorkel trail located within a buoyed area. You will see lots of colorful fish and beautiful coral. Showers/changing rooms are available as well. We found it especially nice to be able to swim and relax without anyone bothering us. After traveling from LA through the Mexican Riviera,Costa Rica and the Panama Canal to the ports of Cartagena,Aruba,Barbados, Dominica, and St. Thomas, (where we were always beseiged by peddlers, hawkers, and taxi drivers), it was a wonderful relief.
I will definitely recommend this trip. If you book it through the ship, you will have few hassles and a beautiful and rewarding day. It will be a highlight to your trip.
