I'm taking Holy Land Cruise in Late October on Pacific Princess. Can anyone tell me what the weather is like while at Sea - both day & night. I don't want to take winter coat if not necessary? How cold does it get for walks around deck at night?
From my memory, the breezes were like warm baths. I had a blazer on at most, certainly not a coat. It's a wonderful area to sail around and the weather was spectacular every day of my trip. Hope it's the same for you.
I visited the Holy Land aboard the nuclear-powered missile cruiser USS California (CGN-36) in January of 1978 and found nights to be rather chilly but shirtsleeve weather in the daytime, and that was pretty much true also of the other areas in the Mediterranean where we went. My recommendation is to bring layers for versatility. A sweater or sweatshirt with a waterproof spring or fall jacket should be adequate for any conditions that you are likely to encounter during the daytime. You will be able to stay below decks aboard ship at night if you encounter abnormally cold conditions.
