We are sailing on the OP Dec. 24th, going down two days early ( Can`t be too careful with these midwest winters!) when should I expect to receive my documents? first time on Princess lines. jean.
I've only traveled once so far with Princess. I received my docs approximately 4 weeks prior to sailing (that was for a Sep2000 sailing/Vancouver-Seward on OP).
This is my experience only. Also, all my experiences with Princess (land and/or ocean based) have been very favorable.
Hope you enjoy your 'time out'--happy holidays. I'll be right behind you on a cruise the first of 2001.

Jean,
This can be affected by whether you've booked using cruise line air package. Normally takes a bit longer if they're handling your air.
Really can be anywhere from 10 days to 30 days prior to sailing.
My last two cruises it's been less than 7 days to sailing until I've received the docs. Guess they had trouble deciding if they were really going to let me on <G>

I have always booked my own air. The doc's typically seem to arrive about 3-4 weeks before the start of the cruise.
BTW, you should have received an "advance" package containing some general information, information on shore excursions (including a sign-up sheet -- Princess allows you to book shore excursions in advance) offered on your cruise, and a sheet to return with information on your passport and an emergency contact. If you have not received that package yet, do have your travel agent inquire about it.
thanks to all, yes I received the preliminary package about a month ago, and sent back all the required paperwork, just waiting for my cruise docs. and tickets now, we are going down 2 days early and I`m getting antsy!!! jean.
