Default Hotel Beaches in Cozumel

I've heard suggestions on some message boards and in reviews about going to a hotel while in port and using their beach/pool. Any recommendations in Cozumel? Also, is there a charge for this? I know in Nassau we went to a hotel casino that allowed free use of the pool to encourage gambling. Leaving on Sea P. on 2/17/01-- can't wait!!

I don't know about any Hotel Beaches at Cozumel as they are not right there at the port/piers. I highly recommend taking a taxi to Playa del Sol. When we sailed the Sea, we just took the taxi there and it was beautiful. ($12 per taxi each way). There is a restaurant, facilities, and a good crafts bazaar with cheaper prices on goods than down town. As you walk through the bazaar you will be heckled to stop and buy, but just say no and do shop before you leave. Taxi's are readily available to return to town. In Cozumel, be sure to stop at Poncho's Back Yard for a lovely Mexican cafe experience and the best Margarheta's. It is located at the far end of the main street in the rear of a great souvenir store which anyone from the ship will know the name of.
Bon Voyage

Just got back on Sat. from the Sea Princess. We went to the Reef Club for the day, as it was the excursion offered by Princess. We were very disappointed with the resort & beach. For $25, you got unlimited drinks, but has to pay another $10 for food (it was an all-inclusive resort.) It just seemed sort of dirty to me. Also,
it was $10 for a taxi each way to get there. I'm sure you could do much better at another resort.
On the brighter note, the Sea Princess was great! The Trimarin Cruise to the
Falls, was especially fun, but again the private beach was not so good - Princess
shares it with Carnival, & It was very small, & not nearly enough beach chairs.
Food & service on the boat were both great. We had an inside cabin, on the small side, but we didn't spend much time in it. There was a lot of storage space considering the small size of the cabin. The pools were heated, so you could even go in them towards evening when the temperature outside started to drop.
We lucked out with beautiful weather - only 1 day was overcast, & it was between
76-84 all week. I heard the week before has terrible weather.
Have a great time! Hope you find a better beach.
