If the schedule is the same as last year, and I'm reasonably sure that it is, Monday night is a formal night with the Captain's cocktail party preceeding dinner. Then, Friday is the second formal night with the Captain's Circle members cocktail party before dinner.
I'm also trying to get an anwer about the lobster/prime rib night. My wife remembers it being Friday night, but I'm not positive.
Internet connection... yes, in the business center, but REAL expensive. Good only for quick downloads and uploads mainly designed for business people who absolutely must keep in touch. I did not use it on board. I went to a cyber-cafe in St. Thomas and e-mail a few friends... just to make them jealous. <grins>
Doing a little Grand class cruising a week from today.

Thanks... You don't have to turn it off. Just open a separate with to continue your work or surfing and keep refreshing that page. That way you can listen to the LUUUUV Boat Theme and work at the same time. <smile>
I just found out today from someone who was recently on the Grand Princess that in February they changed the first formal night from Monday to Tuesday. They also moved the Captain's Circle cocktail reception with the Captain to Tuesday night also. So now the Formal nights are Tuesday and Friday.
I was also informed that lobster night is Friday night and prime rib in Wednesday.
Whew... too much food to consume... too little time. <grins>
Also, on the Grand Princess they have eliminated the Captain's welcome aboard party in the Atrium but you can purchase champagne at a reduced rate in several lounges if you are not a repeater who is attending the Captain's Circle Party. They have eliminated INFORMAL night too; now 2 Formal and 5 Smart Casual is the dress recommendation although it is only adhered to by about 50% of the cruisers. Lobster is served along with Beef Wellington on Friday, the 2nd formal night. Baked Alaska is served on Saturday night and they have done away with the parade (due to safety they say). Shrimp cocktail is served twice during the 7 night cruise.
