Does anyone have any information on the Princess Lodges in Alaska? We are booked in the Denali Princess and Kenai Princess Lodges, and I would like to know how they are, what type of excursions are available. the reservations line has not been terribly helpful, nor has their web site. Any personal experiences would be greatly appreciated.
We stayed at the Mt Mckinley lodge (Kenai?) area. Lodging is in separate cabins. Easy walk and also have golf cart type rides. Lodge is gorgeous and several places to eat. Buffet, very nice restaurant, bar/restaurant and coffeebar. Huge fireplace and lots of chairs and big windows plus outside deck. You can only take walks around Lodge; nothing else there.
I took the horseback ride. Regular trail was frozen. Offered refund but said we could just roam thru the woods. It was really great but got lots of bruises/scratches. They offered rafting, etc tours.
We stopped at Denali (where we got off train from Fairbanks). Then took bus tour thru park. I was not impressed with Denali area buildings. But did not see Princess hotel. We were bussed from there to Mt McKinley lodge.
The tours in Fairbanks were great. If want more info, will be glad to share. It was a terrific land/cruise package. Our first Princess cruise.
