Default shipboard credit

Hey gang....

I need some advice or opinions....
We are sailing on the Grand Princess in September and as an incentive to do so our agent added a $150 shipboard credit for us...
I called Princess to inquire about spending the credit and was told that it was against company policy to verify or not verify an agents incentive...
My agent said it was taken care of and Princess knew about it...
I really don't look forward to being on board and no one knowing what I'm talking about...
Any help or advice out there...
Thanks...ED

Ed,
Im sure the credit is valid. Princess will not talk with you about Agency's prices. They feel that is the agents job. I would have the Agent fax you a copy of the confirmation from Sabre Cruise Director. It will show the ship credit. That way you know you will get it.

The shipboard credit will appear on your account; you can confirm the amount at the Purser's Desk when you get on board also. What a nice perk from your TA! Enjoy your cruise.

Our T.A. sent Princess a $100.00 shipboard credit for each of the 5 of us (family) and there was a nice card printed and delivered to us by our room steward the second day of our cruise last month. What Princess does is deduct that credit from your bill. I think it was a very nice gesture from the T.A.. Some send wine or flowers, etc. but I think the credit is much nicer. Helen.

Enjoy!!!!!

Just returned from Mediterranean cruise on new Golden Princess and their shipboard credits are wonderful. You cannot use cash at all on ship, evem for a coke. You use your room ID card for everthing, present a credit card when reserving your trip, and your statement is delivered to your stateroom just prior to debarking. You don't even have to go to the purser's desk. It is really a great system and Princess has it down to an art. Also their shore trips are the best organized I have ever seen. Smooth as clockwork. Bon Voyage!

Our TA did this also it was on our final bill don't worry Princess is a class act as my husband says. Everything on our Alaska cruise on both land and see was just great.

We're also supposed to receive a $200 shipboard credit, but it's not reflected anywhere on my receipt from the TA. I have nothing in writing to prove that I'm entitled to the credit and this concerns me, since the $200 credit was the final deciding factor in booking the cruise. Is it "normal" that shipboard credits are not reflected on your receipt? And what happens if it DOESN'T show up on your on-board account and you have no documentation to prove it?

On your cruise docs, under the name & address area is a line that states SHIPBOARD CREDIT and the amount should be filled in if this was agreed to prior to booking 7 final payment. If it wasn't than that will be blank & a letter will be on the desk stating that your account has a credit for $200. On the 3rd day, goto the Purser & ask for a printout of charges so far.....see if it is on it!
