Has anyone heard any word on what the disembarkation procedures were like during the weekend? I am sailing on Grand Princess in a couple of weeks.
I was wondering if there are long delays getting off the ship, which would have an impact on catching flights home.
No problems this weekend! A minor delay in getting Immigration on board for 6AM----after they arrived, everything went smoothly. If you have an early flight, Princess gets you off first------we had a 12:30 flight and were at the airport by 10 AM-----the most stressful thing was seeing if in fact we had a flight to catch!!!! Princess sent personnel with our whole group----guaranteed overnight accomadations if anyone did not get a flight!!!
Thats wonderful of Princess with all the assistance, glad you got home and you were able to get off the ship in a timely manner, thanks for the information. People traveling these days just don't know what to expect, thanks again.
Bill B -- you were at the aiport by 10 a.m. Where in the process were you? Were you first off? I know they usually start disembarking at 7 a.m. and figured our early flight time would put us in the first group.
Thanks for the responses.
My TA was able to get me a later departure out of FLL which will mean less worries while cruising.
(The airline re-opened my ticketing because they had to re-schedule my flight to FLL to avoid Reagan National in Washington, which was the original plan.)
Mark...No big problem. I just got off the Grand yesterday. The only change was we had to report to customs on board the ship and show our passports. They started with last names beginning with the letters A to D (at 6:15!)
They disembarked all passengers with flights first and the busses were waiting.
