Grand Upgrade

Just found out we were upgraded from an AB to an AA. Any thoughts on the benefits of this upgrade? This room is more mid-ship. Is it that beneficial to be mid-ship?

There is less motion amidship than either the stern or the bow of a ship. Good upgrade, IMHO.

You may want to check with your TA. IMHO most of the A level mini-suites are equal. We are most interested in getting the best price. We had already been upgraded from AD to AC to AA. I checked with her earlier this week after reading about somemore discounts on these boards, and we moved "back down" to AB and a $200 savings. We may still get "back up" to AA. I think no matter where you are in the A level, you'll love it, with the possible exception of AD which is in the far aft and may have lounge noise and engine vibration etc.

Jenn - You didn't say what date you were cruising. Were you upgraded free or did you pay for it? Seemed as if you implied you had paid for the upgrade, which really shouldn't ne necessary. I always book an AD guarantee and have always been upgraded. For the 12/16 Grand cruise, we were upgraded to an AB within a week of making our reservation. I wouldn't mind another upgrade to an AA or Vista, which they tell me may happen, but no matter, the AB is wonderful. Too bad they have eliminated the butler service though. That was terrific.
