Default New "A" Level Deal

Just saw on the internet that priness is running a deal on "A" level cabins. They are all priced at 1090.67 pp.
I called expedia.com and was tolded that there was a wait list for the "AA" and 'AD' cabins but they had 'AB' and 'AC' cabin s left. Can anyone tell me why someone would book an 'AD' before taking an 'AB'? And has anyone been able to upgrade at the lower rate?
BTW the sailing is march 23, 2002

The AD balconies are private, not open from above as the ones on Dolphin deck. We have booked an AD and requested no upgrade, as that is what we prefer. Also you can go out if it is raining, as you are under cover.
I think many prefer them to an AA, AB or AC.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess!!!

Hi Scott,

I was fortunate to get that upgrade for 1049.00pp. You should not have any problem. I just got the upgrade this past Thursday. I know it is limited but my ship partners got the same break. We are leaving March 30th on the Golden. My partners upgraded from a inside stateroom to the AA minisuite and I upgraded from an outside balcony to the AA minisuite. Let me know how it works out. Happy sailing!

Because booking an AD guarantee is cheap! And getting upgraded to an AB is not uncommon. It has happened to us for our 12/16 Grand cruise! Why would anyone book anything else than an AD guarantee?
