Default Regal Princess 04/11/02 & 04/27/02

We will be on these two Regal Princess back-to-backs: April 11, (Bangkok - Tokyo) and April 27, (Tokyo - San Francisco) for a total of 48 glorious days :-)

Is anyone out there joining us?

Just out of curiousity, how much does it cost to cruise for 48 glorious days? How do you pack for that? And .... the obvious question ..... how much weight do you gain? Not that it wouldn't be worth it!!!!!! I am really curious about the price.

Ok, I'll tell you (promise not to be too green).

In our case it's a little beyond 'dirt cheap' because I originally booked a super deal on the Regal Princess April 11, 30-day (Bangkok - Rome) for $1862.00 USD pp including port & taxes and $100 pp onboard credit & two bottles of wine (I'm not including air as it varies depending on your residence). This cruise was cancelled and we were given the new April 11, 16-day (Bangkok - Tokyo) as compensation for free and our booking transfered to the new April 27, 32-day (Tokyo - San Francisco) with a corresponding reduction in air fare because we no longer have to fly home from Rome - Vancouver (it's now SF - Van.). This works out to less than $39 pp/day (not including air)... yeeeha!

I'm going to pack like I'm going on a 7-day cruise: large suitcase, garment bag and carry-on. There's a laundromat, and the old saying "take half the clothes you think you'll need" is true... found this out on a 22-day repositioning last spring.
