Default flexible dining

I am on Princess on 12/30 and had originally asked for second sitting. I now wish to have the choice to go into flexible dining. The brochure received among other papers from Princess addressing the choices of dining says: ' once on board, passengers will not be able to switch between traditional dining and flexible dining" My TA says she has been told by the line that even on traditional assignment one can switch back and forth freely. Can I have a consensus of what actually takes place.. Thanks one and all. JP

We just came back from the Grand Princess. We had the personal choice dining and loved it. My understanding is that you can change to PC once onboard. I believe that if you are signed up for personal choice you can't go back and forth because no table assignment would have been made for you.

When you go to the PC dining rooms you do not have to show any PC ID to get a table, so I can't imagine them knowing you were traditional and not letting you in. YOu do show your cruise card for paying for drinks and the card says PC or traditional, but should be able to eat anywhere I believe.

we were on Grand Princess in July, booked for second seating and switched to Personal Choice dining when we boarded. No problem and we loved it.

You can switch from traditional to PC, but not the other way once on board.
