Default Ft Lauderdale shore excursions

We will have the rest of the day in Ft Lauderdale after leaving the Golden on Jan. 5th. Will have a rental car to pickup sometime that day for a drive to Orlando. Has anyone taken any of the FL shore excursions (FL by Land and Sea; Everglades Airboat & Tropical Gardens; FL City Highlights) offered by Princess? Or should we just do it on our own with the rental car? Your advise and experience will be appreciated. Thanks

Would like to get some advice also, have a flight out at 7:25 at night. Suggestions anyone? I have been on other cruises where the shore excursions in Ft. Lauderdale were cancelled at the last moment for lack of participation. Hopefully not this time.

Dont bother with the car take the river taxi around Fort Luderdale and see the sites, walk along the river front and call in at the taxi stops, only 5 dollars per person, get on and off where you like. Drop in on Pier 66, the cocktail bat of the Hyatt Hotel, it revolves 360 degrees every hour and one coffee gives you an hours entertainment. Leave the car at home.

Do it yourself and save a lot of money. The whole Lauderdale-miami-palm Beach strip makes for marvelous sightseeing. Get the triple A book or goto Barnes noble, get a latte and read a Fla. guidebook. JP
