Default Sea Princess 1/26 Restaurant?

We are going on the Sea Princess to Mex Riv 1/26.
I was wondering about the restaurant on board and what anyone has to say about it good or bad. How much does it cost per person and it just for dinner only.
Thank you, Allan and Charlene

By restaurant do you mean the Sterling Steakhouse? If so, it costs $8 pp and is set up only for dinner - outside at the Riviera Grill in warm climates, and inside (part of the Horizon Court) in cold climates.

The formal Dining Room (breakfast, lunch & dinner), Horizon Court buffet & bistro (24 hr.), Lago's Pizzeria, Riviera Grill (hamburgers & hotdogs etc.), and Room Service (24 hr.) are all included in your cruise price.

We're going on the same Jan 24th sailing (veranda cabin). My first time on Princess (done Royal Carribean, Carnival and Norwegian before), so am curious about the restaurants, too.

I think we are going to pass on the Steakhouse, because usually the main dining room is just fine with us. I do know they have the menu on the princesscruises.com site -- standard Black Angus-type fare.

We've just returned from the 7-day Mexican Riviera cruise (Sea Princess) on 1-5-02. We totally enjoyed the "Preferred Dining" option in the Neapolitan Room. We had Robert Horvath from Hungary as our waiter and Laszlo, his assistant, at table 57 and their service was absolutely excellent making sure we had everything we liked. We hooked up with three other couples the second night of the cruise and "monopolized" our table from 7 to 10 pm each evening but it was by far the highlight of our cruise. A word of caution - the matre'd in the Neapolitan Room was not pleasant and had few people skills. We heard mixed comments on the Steakhouse, the majority did not seem to like it. The pizzaria is good although it is usually inhabited by large numbers of kids from the cruise. Ice cream can be purchased during limited hours at the ice cream shop but at an additional cost (this is not true on other cruise lines). Soda also costs extra ($1.75 per glass) but you can purchase a sticker which is attached to your cruise card for an additional $20 after you get on board which will cover all soda during your cruise.
