Default hotels

I need a recommendation for a hotel in Ft. Lauderdale to stay for a couple of nights. Somewhere near the beach and pier. Thanks

We've stayed at the Sheraton Yankee Clipper and though not plush, we found it worked well for us. We also recognized the lounge of this hotel in a fairly recent movie..."Analyze This".

We recently enjoyed a pre and post cruise stay at the Radisson Bahia Mar. It is just down the road from the Sheraton mentioned above. Full service hotel located between the Ocean and the intracoastal. There are also facilities here for your yacht.
Short walk to local shopping and tons of local restaurants and such along the beach.Cab fare from the airport $12-15 . Cab to the port about $10 . Restaurants, deli and convenience store and in hotel shops as well (all on premises).
I highly recommend Pussers for dinner just a few blocks north.
You can also do a cheesy local tour boat ride of the intracoastal
located just next door called the Jungle cruise. Actually surprisingly entertaining for a family.
Fishing and dive boats leave daily from the yacht pier on the premises.
For our next trip we are doing a pre cruise at the Embassy Suites. Free shuttle from Airport and free breakfast. Not on the beach , but right in the heart of shopping area.
