Just wanted to let everyone know, that besides my report on the CruiseMates Golden Group that's on the CM Home Page, my more detailed thoughts on the ship are now up in Member's Reviews, Princess area.
There are actually many more details that I left out, but going more than 8 pages, I thought you'd lose interest <G>
Great review of the Golden! Sounds like Princess needs to hold off of the nickle and diming (at least they don't have the fridge stocked with $3 candy bars that set off the pay alarm when moved).
You mentioned a lot of smokers in the group. Just wondering if they are still doing the one side of the ship smoking and the other no smoking and if any of the bars are totally no smoking (other than show lounges). We've got a group with quite a few smokers going in Feb. so this may affect meeting spots.
On deck the port side was smoking, starboard non-smoking. The dining rooms, Vista Lounge, Atrium Lounge, Promenade Lounge are totally non smoking.
The Wheelhouse Bar, the Explorer's Lounge, The Sports Bar and the disco have small smoking sections.
For those who don't smoke, the Golden is actually a pretty good set up. Far more non-smoking areas than smoking.
Kuki,
I read your Golden review - very informative and enjoyable. I have one comment - Horizon Court does offer fresh omelettes - its just not very obvious - you have to ask. We were on the Golden transatlantic last fall and my husband had his fresh omelette every morning.

I was on the Golden for New Years and didn't figure out the smoking/non-moking/port/starboard thing. The only time I had a problem with smoke was on our Baja starboard balcony--occupants on both sides were smokers and when they were smoking on their balconies I had to come inside. Fortunately, they didn't use their balconies very much--which we did except on the last day when it was too cold.
I was on the same cruise and appreciated your review. I pretty much ageee with everything you said. I will try to post my own supplemental review in the near future.
