Default Champagne Catamaran Excursion?

Has anyone been on the Champagne Catamaran trip to St Johns? How was it? Which part of St John's was visited? What was included, could you snorkel? Thanks for the help- need some info before I purchase tickets!

I went on this excursion in November. It was great. You take a beautiful catamaran ride to St. John's. It takes about an hour to get there. Great scenery! The crew was very attentive, all drinks and food is included. They set anchor on a secluded beach were they spread out the cold buffet and you can swim to the beach or take a motorized raft if you don't want to swim. They give you snorkeling gear and there is a reef near by that has beautiful fish and coral to see. Did I mention all drinks are included, beer , hard liquor, hard punch and non-alcoholic beverages too. The snorkeling equipment is very clean. They clean it at the end of each trip by soaking it in chlorine. I was wondering about that when I put the gear on but it's a law that they have to clean it after every use. That's good because who wants to be swapping saliva with everyone who's been on that tour?

You are anchored for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours and then they lift anchor and start sailing back to the ship. On the sail back you get to sit back and relax while taking in the island and listening to Jimmy Buffet. I was never a fan of his until this trip. Now that I'm back to the old grind everytime I hear him on the radio I turn up the volume and reminisce about the trip. While sailing back the crew is always walking around making sure everyone has drinks and they bring you chocolate and carrot cake for dessert. It's a perfect ending to the day. I would recommend getting a spot at the front of the catamaran for the sail back. This way you can enjoy the views and you have a cool breeze to cool you down under the hot sun.

As you can tell I really enjoyed this excursion and would do it again in a heart beat. Well worth the $100 per person charge.

Have fun.

Took this excursion on the Ocean in Feb of 2000. It was the best, well worth the money. If you go and Stephanie is still part of the crew, tell her I said hello she is a sweetie. Enjoy, I'm counting down until I will be enjoying the Sea Princess on Feb 9. Can't wait. Have fun
