Default Cancelled stop in Cartegena on Sun Princess

Just read on another board that the scheduled stop on the Sun Princess April 15 Panama Canal trip has been cancelled. I confirmed it on the Princess website by going to the Cruise Personalizer and checking out itineray/shore excursions. It will now get to the Canal the day before and overnight there. I am disappointed as I planned to take a ship excursion but I am sure Princess is being cautious as it should.

I am on the 4/5 Sun Princess sailing. I just called Princess to get the scoop. It was cancelled due to warnings for Americans to not visit the country right now. We will actually dock overnight at the Canal. I was told there would be excursions offered to tour the Canal area. More time will be spent in Gatun Lake. Details are all still being worked out at the moment. We'll find out more once we get on board.

Thanks,

Roger

Hi Emmy,
I have also called Princess to verify this. "The Cruise Personalizer" indicates that we will now be at Panama at 2:00 PM on
Thu. Apr. 18 and depart on the Apr. 19 at 4:30 with on shore excursions.

We have 21 days 11 hours 20 mins 18 secs to go.

Thanks for the info,
Henry

Hi, we are on the 4/25 sail date with Sun and yes Cartagena was cancelled. I have been told we have extended hours at Aruba 8a-7p instead of 8a-1p, then they will sail to Colon and wait there before entering the locks which is still scheduled for 5/1 at 7a. Husband was leary of going to Colombia anyway, but Aruba is a beautiful island and we are excited to spend more time there....
