If you have booked through a travel agent, have them call the crusie line to check for fare decreases. I am an agent and I routinely check with the cruise lines for any drop in price. You will receive the discount no even if you are only one day from the date of sailing. I have personally saved clients up to $200 per person by checking. The closer to the date of sailing, if the ship isn't sold out, the more chance of getting a drop in price. Keep in mind, however, that if you have been upgraded to a higher category, requesting the lower fare, may affect your cabin assignment. Good luck.
