Has anyone stay in a cabin across from the self serve laudry on the Sun Class ships? Wondering about noise level and if the washers and dryers are going all night?
I've never been in a cabin too near the laundry, but I do know the laundry rooms are locked at night, from about 10:00 PM. Don't know what time they open in the morning. It's not the noise from the machines but the noise of the people going in and out and talking. Good luck and have a great cruise!
Although I have never had the bad fortune to have such a cabin, I can only suggest that you will experience an unusually high traffic flow of people in that area--something that I personally can't stand and find a major deterrent to my trip.
I would avoid this, at almost any cost, even if it means an inside cabin somewhere else on the ship, unless, of course, it's the only thing available.
Then again, maybe you could just cruise with an overnight bag and wash your clothes everyday since the laundry would be so convenient!
I have stayed across from the Laundry room on 3 cruises and never heard a sound coming from them as the doors stay shut. As far as people flow in the hall, never encountered that either. Guess if you spent time in the hall it would be a distraction. I loved it because if I needed to press something quickly, the facilities were right there. Helen.
On my last cruise on Dawn the door to the laundry rooms was being constantly opened and closed with people checking to see if there was a machine available. I didn't have a room near but had to use the laundry and wouldn't want to be THAT close. There was a lot of traffice in the hall.
I agree with Helen. Our cabin was near the laudry and I found it to be convenient too. Especially on Formal Nite when shirts etc. needed a little pressing. We didn't experience alot of traffic flow or noise. Time in the cabn was spent on the balcony, showering and dressing or sleeping. The laudry room was not a distraction at any of those times!
