What does the AB mean when people talk about rooms? We are booked on our first cruise and we have a stateroom with a private balcony. Just wondering if we should upgrade to a minisuite, or how we can tell if we are in a good place? B636 on the Grand Princess. Any feedback?

Avoid a change to the mini suite. Baja Deck is excellant. The mini suites are larger, but the balcony is visable to the cabins above. If privcy is not an issue, then go ahead and switch. I enjoyed both, especially since I brought my blender and partied on the balcony and even invited those above to join.
Cat AD minisuite has a totally covered, private balcony plus the larger cabin. We had E729 on Grand and the balcony was twice the normal size (E728 is the same larger balcony) If you could get either of these or any other Cat AD I would switch in a heartbeat. The location was very convenient and being aft wasn't a problem--directly up or down on the elevator to most of the action.

Thanks- I could make a naughty comment- but I know this is a G rated site ha ha. Size isnt that big of a deal, beacause I hope I do not spend much time in the room! I will save the money for excursions and rum n cokes!

If you are not going to be spending a lot of time in the room, why get the balcony? I am just wondering. We get a balcony room because we enjoy sitting on the balcony. But if you are not going to use it, why buy it? That will give you even more money for drinks and excursions.
