Only 19 more days. Please share any tips about the Golden....things not to miss and also what to avoid! This is our first Princess cruise and we need advice. What shows & theaters are the best? We are scheduled for late dinner, but we may decide to try PC. Any tips in the casino? I love the slots. Any lucky machines?
Hi SS,
Sorry, but I had no luck on the machines, you may find the "lucky" one, hope U do. One thing thats not to miss, is the champagne waterfall. This is usually done on one of the formal nights, don't forget to bring your camera, really quite a sight, enjoy!
When you come back from your trip please post a review. As I am going on the Golden December 7 and it is also my first time on Princess. Any information would be appreciated.
I'm sailing on the Golden for Thanksgiving, Evie so I'll try to get some info to you as soon as I get back. I've sailed with Princess but not on any of the newer ships, I'm really looking forward to it!
I sailed on the Golden last November and it was also my first cruise with Princess and I must tell you....IT WAS WONDERFUL. The ship is huge but once you are on board
there is a feeling of intimacy. The interior design creates a feeling of warmth and comfort. You do not have the feeling that you are on a large ship. I have just one minor complaints and that is if you are interested in purchasing art, the art is too expensive. Otherwise, you will love it. Try the lap pool..it was great.
It looks like we will be on the same sailing. Judging by how many days you say to go you must also be sailing the 16th of November. This will also be our first cruise. I've gotten so much information from these boards, I feel I'm more than ready. We'll have a great time!

Unfortnately, it's too late. The thing to avoid is any ship of that class, if you possibly can.
Any tips in the casino?
The only way to make money in a casino is to use whatever you would have gambled to buy shares of the company that owns it. In this case, that company is P&O Princess Cruises Plc. (LSE: POC). If you can't or don't want to buy foreign stocks, you can buy the "American Depository Receipt" (ADR) shares (NYSE: POC), which are equivalent to four ordinary shares, instead.
I disagree with Norm. The Golden Princess is a large ship, but we've been on two Golden cruises and loved both. Don't miss afternoon tea. Also, the Terrace pool is great if you just need a quick dip. It's adults only. The Oasis pool (which is the lap pool that someone already mentioned) is also nice. If you'd like to try Sabatini's, we found it to be a better value for the brunch than for dinner if you drink alcoholic drinks. We found that the later seatings for the evening shows to be less crowded. Also, you can order espresso and cappuccino in the dining room. I'm not a coffee drinker, but my partner loved these.
Have you ever been aboard MV Sun Princess, MV Dawn Princess, MV Sea Princess, or the now former MV Ocean Princess?
If not, please try one of those vessels an dsee how they compare to MV Grand Princess and MV Golden Princess. Do your own comparison, then we'll compare notes.
