I have confirmed reservations for category AD on the Coral Princess' April-May Panama Canal cruise. I understand that this cruise is sold out. Supposedly, we should get this category or better but some people feel we could get the worse category AD cabin also with such an arrangement. Would Princess treat its Platinum Captain Circle members that way? If it is sold out, why aren't we getting a cabin assignment?
Frank... I'd emphatically agree with the previous two posters. First, there really isn't a "bad" AD on the ship.
Second, having a guarantee in Cat. AD is good... on a full ship, it is even better! There will be lots of "shaking out" and moving, particularly when final payments are due and when remaining unsold group space (if any) is recalled.
Third, you are in a great position for a serious upgrade, especially when considering you Captain's Club status.
Just keep checking the Princess site for a cabin assignment, thats how we found out what cabin we were in, nope, we didn't get an upgrade, but you should be fine. It will be listed in the cruise personalizer when you have a cabin, good luck!
I believe there are only 4 category AD cabins on the ship and they are all direct midships so it wouldn't be bad if you got one of them. If you booked an AD guarantee you will get that or higher so you can't lose. We also booked an AD guarantee on the 4/3 sailing and got assigned an AA but they are all the way forward on Baja deck. After final payment day there will be a lot of cabins opening up. Not to worry!
> I how bad can the worst minisuite on the ship be???
True. And can you believe I have to suffer with such accomodations for 15 days. (G) Thanks to all for your comments. Final payment is due the end of the month so hopefully we will find out then.

The Princess web site still shows guarantee but no cabin number for our April Panama Canal cruise. We do have a cabin assignment for our September SF to Tahiti cruise though, but we had those from the get go.

> the guarantee many times.. FYI, many of the mini-suite

> balcony rooms
That's a bummer. One would have expected just the opposite.
I have a question. My husband and I booked on the Coral.
Balcony cabin BG guarantee. I looked on the Princess Web site and see that they have us booked in a Cabin BE. Had a Cabin number too. Does anyone know if that will be the cabin we will get, or because it's a Guarantee can they change it again before we sail. we are sailing in April. I was told that if it's a Guarantee that it could change right up to the day of sailing. We have been on Princess several times, alway's use a Guarantee and never ever have they down graded from the original guarantee rate. And a few times we got exactly the guarantee room category.
Thanks for your help. Just want to know if I should keep checking the web site to see if the room number changes.
Sounds like you recieved a two catagory upgrade! Good for you.
It has been our experience that once they assign a cabin then that is it. Princess has enough to do filling the remainer of the cruise, instead of going back and shuffling cabin assignments.
