Default Pop Card Clarification

I just spoke with someone who has cruised often, but not with Princess. She told me that if you want to purchase a pop card, EACH person in your cabin is required to buy one also. She said this is to avoid one person getting the pop for several people. This contradicts info I've been given from Princess passengers on this site. Can someone confirm the accurate information for me? We leave 04/27.

Thanx!

I just got off the Grand 2 weeks ago and it is per person and not per cabin. Basically when you get on the ship they will have stations set up (just about everywhere) and when you sign up they charge your card $22.50 ($20 + 15% tip). They put a sticker on your card which all you have to do is show to get a drink.

Yes, but I don't drink pop - only my husband does. So if he wants a pop card in order to buy pop, am I required to purchase one also?

My above response sounded rude upon re-reading it. I did not mean it to be. Only those that wish to do so purchase a soda card (actually a sticker that goes on your cruise card).

My sister and I used our cards last year, no problem. But if you order two sodas, they will ask to see two cards. Of course, I've read there are sneaky ways around this, but I'm not going to quibble about $20. It's not like I'm not going to drink that amount, so I don't mind paying for it.

Never heard of them requiring everyone in the cabin to buy a card. I love them and they pay for themselves by the second day.

A confirmed DIET-Coke-aholic!!

I figure the total price is $22.50 + $3.38 for tax = $26.00 roughly divided by $1.75 each = approx. 15 Diet Cokes.

In other words, YES! 15 Diet Cokes in two days, you betcha!! Terrible, ain't it? My name is Bobbie and I have an addiction....

I, too, have an addiction, Bobbie. Maybe you can start "Soda Drinkers Anonymous".

What's really bad is when you get picky about the Diet Coke. I prefer fountain soda vs. canned soda. Sad, isn't it?

You got that right. My wife would love to be able to get some diet Pepsi or diet ginger ale on board. That is the only reason I'd ever consider bringing soda on board. But she makes do.

You CAN get Ginger Ale, at least you could on the Star Princess in December 02, I was able to do it at three different bars, including from a waiter in the showroom.
Hope this helps.

Was that diet ginger ale? My wife is diabetic and has to have the sugar free version.

I don't think they gave diet ginger ale available. I think the only diet drink they have is Coke, possibly Sprite.

That's our problem - the limited types of diet drinks. Sprite usually has to do, especially if one doesn't like Coke.

Is there such a thing as Pepsiaholics I don't see how any one could drink that many Pepsis to become addicted

I normally prefer Pepsi, but when at a hotel or restaurant, will settle for the Coke products. I love must of the Pepsi products: Mountain Dew, Code Red, Sierra Mist.
