Pre/Post Package
On price search engines, it lists a $20 pre/post package on Princess Cruises. This, unlike insurance, cannot be removed from the pricing. What is this for?

Re: Pre/Post Package
This is $10 per way for transfers to and from the ship. A van picks you up at airport or hotel and takes you to the ship. At the end, you ride the shuttle from the ship to the airport.

Many people prefer to take a cab as it is usually faster and quite often cheaper. Also not as crowded.

Re: Pre/Post Package
Thanks, but why can't it be removed from the price?

Re: Re: Pre/Post Package
Princess builds the transfers into the hotel package…if you don’t want to utilize the transfer that is fine, but they can not and do not separate the two. Hope this helps =)

Re: Pre/Post Package
I've taken the transfers from the airport to the ship and back again. My last trip these were included until I decided to drive over and then these figures were deducted from my bill.

Re: Re: Pre/Post Package
CruzNut...when your transfers were deducted from your bill...did you have a pre or post hotel stay booked with Princess? If your NOT doing a hotel then you DO have the option of removing transfers from your CRUISE package...they just can't be removed from the HOTEL package. Just wanted to clarify =)

Re: Pre/Post Package
Okay - clarification noted ... No, I did not have a hotel booked. I also wouldn't book a hotel through Princess ... I'm very sure I could get a better deal on my own. Also, wouldn't book air for the same reason. And, understand with the air that they can route you all over the country ... can be a real mess.

Re: Re: Pre/Post Package
I agree…you can usually get a much better deal booking an independent hotel. Same with the air, as Cruznut mentioned…that is unless your cruise ends in a different port, then you usually get better rates with the cruise line =)
