I am looking at the Grand Princess for the Eastern Carib. We want to go in either July or August. Are ports less crowded in August? I was focused on August, but the July prices have dropped to match August. How about weather? Heat/Humidity and Hurricane issues seem to be the same. Any other factors that I should consider?
I live in the Ft. Lauderdale area. July is very warm and humid but I would say August and September are our hottest months. There are a lot of tropical storms all summer but the most active hurricane months for truly big storms are also August and September.
You would have more children in July cruises because of school schedules. That could be good or not so good according with whom you are cruising.
its really all about your personal preference. Storms really aren't a huge concern for cruise ships, the captain will steer around any storm, you might loose/change a port if a storm is brewing. Both months are very warm (hot) & humid on the islands. The ship is warm but you can always find a nice sea breeze.
