Caribe deck is always a good choice. Your mini suite might be great. IMO I prefer mid ships because there is less movement. However, most ships ride well. Port side is fine (what you've booked) and starboard is also fine. What time of year and where are you travelling?
I was on the Coral April 3-13 in D502 (BD category) ... found out that it had a much larger balcony (about 7' x 7') compared to the Caribe deck cabin right above ... same interior space and the Baja above that had a smaller interior space and a balcony about 4' x 7' (same as the Caribe). Know you asked about a mini but haven't used. Depends on how many will be in your cabin, too. I was in the bump out section mid ships and had more protection from the sun (about the 4') and the other 3' were in the sun. When I called Princess, they gave me entirely different figures as to the size of the balcony. There are only 4 of these cabins on Dolphin deck midships - 2 on port and 2 on starboard ... on either side of very fancy suites. As far as I could tell, they weren't offered on Caribe or Baja.
