We were on the Sun Princess, not the Coral Princess, but we loved it. We loved Princess and can't wait to go again. This was our first cruise on Princess and we were really impressed.
Alaska is breathtakingly beautiful. You will be doing the same itimerary we did. There is something beautiful to see practically the whole cruise. Listen to the naturalist on board to see particularly good sights and wildlife. Only watch from the public decks where you can move from side to side. The lowest public deck gets you a better view of the wildlife. You do see the same sights going out that the other side sees going in Glacier Bay and College Fjord, but the narration is gone so you might not recognize particular points. In our case, the wild life they saw from port side was no longer out sunning themselves when we returned watching from starboard. You'll have a wonderful cruise! Enjoy!
Just returned from the Coral Alaska sothbound & all 6 of us had a great time. The ship is beautiful! I love the glass elevator! One small complaint was that of the four elevators on each deck, usually one or two were temporairly out of order. They always got right to work fixing them. Perhaps it is due to the ship movement. This may be the same on all ships. I don't know as it was our 1st cruise. Regadless, you will be hard put to find anything to complaine abt.
Surprised to hear that the elevators are breaking down already. We noticed none of that on our 15 day cruise that brought the Coral Princess from Fort Lauderdale to San Francisco to start her Alaska runs.
If you want impressive glass elevators, check out the Millenium class ships on Celebrity. Those 4 ships have glass elevators along the side of the ship rather than in the atrium like Princess, so you are looking at the sea which makes an interesting ride.
