Default Important Question about Meeting Ship!

I have to find this out ASAP and princess is closed for the night and my cruise is tomorow and I hope someone has delt with this before.

Due to business I would miss the first 3 days of my 7 day cruise. I could fly into Grand Cayman on the 22nd and meet the ship and the rest of my party who would be on for the whole cruise. Would princess let me do this? How would I check into the boat? Does anyone know how far the airport on grand cayman is from the cruise terminal? Please reply ASAP if you have experience with this and princess specifically. Thank you VERY much for any help in advance.

Default Re: Important Question about Meeting Ship!

Reed: Somewhere in your cruise documents there must be an emergency phone number...probably one for "day of sailing". Call that number, beg them not to hang up and explain your problem. Before that, tonight or Sun. a.m., go their website and try to find a "contact us" link and e-mail them and mark it URGENT!!!

I once sailed on a 10 day Panama Canal cruise on Princess and a couple had missed their plane in Detroit and met us in Limon, Costa Rica, also missing the first 3 days of the cruise. They said Princess was very helpful and accommodating. They had trip insurance and Princess put them up in San Jose, CR and bussed them to Limon to meet the ship. I think your documents would be sufficient paperwork to allow you to board wherever you can catch the ship.

You state "the rest of my party" would be going tomorrow - could they alert Princess people at Pt. Everglades? I think someone would be able to help you if there was a live person asking for help, rather than a phone call. I would try every emergency number I could, including Port Everglades if they have one and someone should be able to get you some answers.

Don't have any answers regarding Grand Cayman airport. It's not a very big island so I don't think it can be that far. Also check your insurance (hopefully you have it) and see if there are any provisions for this situation.

Best of luck - this is so stressful and disappointing. I truly hope things work out for you! That damn work seems to interfere with everything!
