we just got back from the inaugural sailing and was disappointed.... we went on enchantment of the seas royal caribbean last year and was much better.... the food and entertainment didnt compare to rcl.... the only las vegas show was cancelled the 2nd show and assured us it would show by end of sailing never did.... if you like comedians there must have been about 5 different ones, along with magician, juggler, and only one singer who was really good.... bert stratten piano player was wonderful.... only one restaurant between 11pm and 4am... same menu every nite.... no midnite buffet... starved by am... breakfast just ok.... buffets nothing great... weird choices.... not much selection for kids... the charged for ice cream except in dining room... i would only stick with royal caribbean cruises from now on....

interesting comments..have you cruised any other Princess cruises that perhaps you could have a comparision too ? (i.e. do you think some of these problems were because it was the first cruise of the ship and thus was going thru shake down)..the advance "buzz' of the ship really excited alot of people..did you try out the "movies under the stars" ??? Reason why I asked is that I am a diamond member on RCL and have never tried Princess and was thinking about taking my girlfriend on the Caribbean Princess on 9/18

Being a Princess fan, I would hope that the problems arose because of being the 1st sailing. I always tell folks to wait for a few months. I have sailed on Princess 20 times and have always loved it. (cruised a total of 28, including RCCL)
Don't count out Princess, just don't do the 1st sailing. Big mistake!.

Happy sailing,
Sea Angel

I sailed the Caribbean Princess 4/10, but i cant compare it because it was my first ship. I liked it, but sometimes I couldn't find a seat by one of the pools. There was space around other pools though. It didnt feel very crowded either,.
