Default Can you feel any motion on the Golden Princess?

Im going on the Golden Princess Jan 10, 2004 to the Eastern Caribbean and was wondering if you can feel any motion on this big ship? I love motion and hope since its so big, I still will be able to feel like im on a ship. Im staying in the very front of the ship and hope to get the up and downs. I hope by going in January to the Caribbean that it will be more rough.

Thanks for any info
Brian

I've been on a Grand a couple of times. Motion can slightly be felt, but is more evident in the front of the ship and in the aft of the ship. I always seem to really feel it sitting at the slot machines in the casino and in bed at night.

That varies by the weather. We've done the eastern route in March with very high seas, but in October it was smooth as glass. If you really like the motion, have a few extra drinks! I'm sure you'll get some sway!

My advice if you are looking for more motion of the ocean is to always book an aft cabin on the Grand Class ships. Always plenty of motion back there.

Just returned off the Star(Golden class ship) on a 12 day New Zealand Cruise. We had forward cabins (not front cabins) and we had rough weather for 3 days.Despite her being flat bottom and not much draft i thought it performed rather well.We did have movement forard but no sleepless night nor did we hear the coathangers jingle. There was hardly any movement amidships where the Atrium and 2 main Dining Saloons are located.
I recommend for a good sway a stiff rum or Straight scotch.
Enjoy

I just returned from the Eastern Carribean on the Golden Princess. There was no shortage of motion while on board. I felt the most motion while in the Skywalker Lounge. It is on deck 17 Aft. Of course the countless buckets of "Dos Equis" may have contributed to that. Have Fun!!! -Mike

We just sailed on the Golden Dec. 27-Jan.3 and we felt motion! Our cabin was in the very front of the ship and let me tell you---it rocked! The seas were rough on the way down to the Caribbean and less rough on the way back, so that made a difference, too. I heard many people complaining about this very thing on that cruise. Personally, I like to be rocked to sleep. Have a great time.
