Princess' website says they tender in St. Maarten. RCCL says they dock. On cruisemates, some folks have posted that ships dock and some have posted that they tender. Does anyone know whats really the case? I'm looking at Radiance vs. Caribbean Princess for a handicapped friend of mine so accessibility is an issue and tendering is very difficult.
Good morning zoe-----every time I have stopped in St Maarten on Holland America and Princess we have docked. They have a dock that will handle 2 very large ships ie Voyager class------It may depend on how many ships are in port on the day you are there. We are leaving on the Golden Princess this afternoon and will be in St. Maarten on tuesday, I will let you know if we dock or not-----enjoy your cruise!!!!!!!!!
We were on Radiance last year in St. Maarten and did have to tender. Although it wasn't bad because the tender brought us right into town, where the ships that got to dock, you have a long walk or a water taxi, so really makes no difference if you do have to tender there.
They do have a beautiful newer dock, but it only hold so many ships.
Just returned yesterday from my cruise on the Golden------we did have a dock in St Maarten---there were a total of 5 ships in port that day 4 of which were at the dock, only one---Holland Americas Zuiderdam-- had to tender in-------great cruise tho-----who ever you choose I am sure you will have a great time----Happy Cruising!!!!!
