Default comfortable beds

Our past experience with twin beds pushed together was: the mattress frame made an uncomfortable ridge down the lenght of the bed. Granted, this was on an older ship , but is the situation still about the same on today's newest ships (like the Dawn Princess)?

Appreciate the comments.
