Default What exactly is obstructed view

We are sailing the Golden Princess March 13th. I am just curious whether our room on the Emerald deck will have a view at all. I imagine we'll only see a big beautiful life boat! Anyone have experience with this? Anyone going to be on the same cruise? Thanks all.

Our experience with OB/VU is exactly as you describe....life boat bottom.... we were lucky on a couple cruises, they used "our" life boat to tender in!!! We were treated to a great view of the raising and lowering of a tender. Very interesting. Have a great time.

On the Grand, we saw the lifeboat top. You had a pretty good view for the top half of the window. But, sometimes they are working of the lifeboats/tenders and it is disconcerting to have someone right a your window when you are least expecting it! Of course, the windows are refelctive and they really can't see in, but it is disconcerting anyway.

Thanks for the replies. I don't anticipate spending much time in our room; I just wanted to make sure that we could see out enough to tell night from day. Pea, I will keep a look out for the crew working on the lifeboats. I guess I will be sure to change in the bathroom. Thanks for the tip. Lisa

We had an OBV on our last Caribbean cruise. You can stil see out, but have "privacy", it didn't really bother me that much. besides unless you have a balcony, you still have to go "out" to truly experience the sailing, I love the balcony, but not sure if the expense of it can be justified, at least for me.
Have a marvelous time. Princess on the whole is wonderful.
