Can any past passengers of TP give suggestions on what to do with your luggage on departure day. Our flight back to LAX leaves late at night (from what I hear). We would like to enjoy the day on the island, but can't carry luggage around with us. Will they let us leave it on board the ship?
Your checked luggage will be collected the night before and you will be able to check your carry-ons at Sabitini's restaurant during the last day. You will be able to get your carry-ons and re-check them as many times as you like during that last day so that you will be able to do a tour or walk around Papeete.
Thanks for the info. If I understand you correctly, you're saying that we can leave our carry on bag at the Sabitini's for the day and pick them up before we leave to the airport?
Do you also know if we bought transfers purchased from Princess, will we be able to get shuttled to the airport with our carry on later that evening for our late flight?
Luggage is not a problem but there are some tricks to make it work smoothly (for you).
Be sure to pack a plastic bag for your swim suit if you plan to swim at the pool on the last day. The ship is all yours all day until departure, except for your cabin of course. So if you organize your carry on to include all the things you need during the day you will be all set. You wil need to pack your shorts, shirt, slacks etc to change into once you get out of your bathing suit. Your big luggage will be stored all day at dockside and is guarded all of the time. When it is time to go to the airport you will have claimed your carry on from Sabatinis, and then when you get off the ship you will claim your large bags. At the airport, you can change again if you want to fly in different clothes, but remember to pack those clothes on top in you suitcases. Two other things......1. A great place to clean up before getting off the ship is in the fitness club, where you are welcome to use the showers, towels etc. 2. Our flight was very very late at night and our shuttle to the airport was the very last one at about 9:45 pm, so,dressed nicely, eight of us showed up at the dining room and were welcomed for dinner in a half empty dining room. They do not promote this extra dinner but were very accommodating. A great way to end the trip.
Thank you! That is exactly what we will do. Not sure exactly what time we will be flying back to LA, but I hear it will be around 11:00pm. Nice to have another whole day in Tahiti (and be able to eat for free!)
P.S. Can you recommend anything special on the islands? We will be doing the Huahine, Rarotonga, Raiatea, Bora Bora, Moorea itinerary. We have Marc's Tour booked for Huahine, but if you know of any good snorkel areas or beautiful beaches, I'd appreciate
