Princess, recognizing the great numbers of gay and lesbians onboard, now places a notiice in the Princess Patter on the second day out for a meet and greet. On the Star (18 days) we had 30 g&l onboard which made the trip for us that much more enjoyable. So y'all don't get offended, Princess also has meet and greet for every imaginable group out there including Friends of Bill, Veterans, Nurses, Doctors, Elks, Moose, et al. It's a great way to meet new friends.
Since you are posting this outside the Gay and Lesbian area of CruiseMates, I will take it as an invitation from you that all of us who are not gay and lesbian are welcome to join in the Friends of Dorothy meeting. Thank you.
Of course you're welcome to attend; we don't exclude anyone as most heteros seem to do. As a matter of fact we had several "straight" friends join us each night and we all had a great time yucking it up.
I am pleased to hear that Princess offers this to G & L. I'm a hetero and my husband and I have best friends that have started cruising with us and are lesbians. We were on, of all cruise lines, Carnival, and they wouln't take my girl friends, couple picture. We were furious! Thank God it was only a 2 day cruise to nowhere. It was their first, to get their feet wet and I was worried it would be their last. Luckily, they are traveling on the Caribbean Princess with us on 11/20/04. It will be their 2 nd Princess and our 21st. You can tell, I'm a fan of Princess!
Any questions for me? Give me a shout.

ridingthewaves, I would have preferred if you had extended the offer to attend, without adding the second part of your sentence. It sounds a bit "superior" to me, and as if you are speaking on behalf of gays as a group saying "WE don't exclude...". Surely you know gays who exclude straights just as the opposite is true. Gays are not nicer or less nice than other people, in my opinion. Some do covet Dorothy's sequined red shoes, though. ;-)
BC, you are beating me to the Dawn Princess, so you'll have to be the one with the review. ;-)
