Cruising on this ship 2/05, first timer....just saw the other mentions of 'covered' vs. 'not covered' balconies. We are on Dolphin deck, mini suite w/balcony but with this new ship, not sure if it's covered or not and do I care? What are the pros/cons?
Going on the inagural run on 4/3... we will try to keep it clean for all of you, but can't make any promises.... To Marybeth: Mini-suites on the Dolphin deck are uncovered. They are also on the most outside of the ship. If you look straight down you will see water. When you look up, you will actually have to look behind you to see the other people on their balconies above you.
My daughter and her boyfriend will be on that exact cruise 10/9 out of Ft. Lauderdale.
He plans to ask her to marry him on the trip. I wish I could go too. ;>(
It really looks nice and VERY Huge too.
Is anyone taking a cruise on the Carribean on July 31st? We cruised on the Grand last summer and had a wonderful time, and we're trying the Carrebean this summer.
I think that the Caribe deck is the only deck with covered balconies. The balconies are larger on this deck than on others; half is covered by the balcony above, and the other half extends out and is open.
I guess we'll soon know; she's sailing in the next few days. If anyone is cruising out on the Carribean for her maiden voyage, please let us know what you think of her.
We are going on 10/9 with two kids 5 and 7. We can't wait. I hope to meet lots of fun people to share the experience with. Any one planning any shore exscursions??? We'd like to rent a rhino boat and take a tour. Princess cays looks great
We're going December 4th, to celebrate our anniversary. The upgrade fairy visited us already for this cruise, but we've had another Princess cruise booked for a long time to Alaska for this summer and no upgrade on it. I have no idea what determines an upgrade; but we're sure looking forward to both Princess cruises this year. Usually we've been on one by this time of year; but with the price of the Alaska cruise and land tour we were unable to take a winter cruise. It sure has been a long winter in the midwest and I'll be very happy to be cruising again. To everyone else; enjoy the Caribbean Princess, and I'm very excited to be sailing on her in December. I've read some really interesting facts about the ship and activities and it sounds great.
ANITA-- We also are booked on the December 4th sailing of the Caribbean Princess! I have been looking for someone else to post that they were sailing this date, but figured it would be awhile since its so far out!!! We are also from the Midwest (Wisconsin) and are happy its finally starting to warm up
Glad to hear we have some fellow travelers! I must ask.... did you book a guarantee room that you got an upgrade already?! Thats what we booked so I hope the upgrade fairy visits us too!! You must check out the pictures of the CP on cruisecritic.com there are over 80 of them, inside and out!
