Default water shoes concern

Boy was I a sight today. I thought I better try on the new snorkel gear, so I put on my new swimsuit and gear and ran (actually I tripped) around the house. My teenage daughters thought I was crazy. Guess I'll be practicing in the pool this summer. Good thing I live in sunny CA! Found water shoes at Target. Anybody have any trouble with the basic cheap water shoes? A friend told me his fell apart in salt water. Anybody have any thoughts?

I buy the cheap watershoes and have had no problems with them falling apart in salt water or fresh water.

I bought an expensive pair, but I use them a lot kayaking on the coast of North Carolina and needed something to protect my feet from oyster shells. I've read of people just taking along an old pair of sneakers for climbing Dunns River Falls--and then throwing them away.

WISH MY "CHEAP-O" Water Shoes had come to pieces! What BLISTERS they gave me!

When buying Water Shoes, be smarter than I was! Do be sure to rub your finger inside to MAKE SURE there are no rough edges.

My old "Sperry DockSiders" brand Water Shoes may not look great BUT they are so comfy and don't give me blisters. There are times when price is not everything.

i paid the extra for the Tevia type water sandals had them for about 6 years, had to finally throw them out after our last cruise. I think the basic ones go for around $40.00 - will be buying a new pair soon! They are great - they give grip and support.

I have a Speedo pair that weren't too expensive ($25), but I use them a lot, not just on the beach, but on any outing where I think my feet will get wet.

Pea , Glad to hear about your Speedo Water Shoes. I bought a pair last fall for half price but have not worn them yet in the water. They FEEL very comfortable -- no rough edges inside!!!! Makes me feel better knowing you like yours! Thanks!

water shoes are graet-they do not fall apart and protect for feet from underwater nasties like broken shells-and they are so cheap-you can replace them when you want

WSEA - My sister has an identical pair and wears hers when she is gardening.

When we're on a cruise, we always have to keep ours separate so we don't get confused!
