Default GOLDEN PRINCESS - DRY DOCK

Does anyone know when Golden will be going into drydock , and also will she be equipped with the movie screen under the stars. just curious if it will be in place for our cruise on August 01. Also still looking for info about the Intercontinental hotel in San Juan or the Marriott San Juan , which would be a better choice for a 1nt post cruise stay. thanks, CK

She is going into drydock at the end of April. The decision about the Movies under the Seas was not made until recently, so I doubt that she will be outfitted with that at this drydock.

I go 5/9 and will let you know for sure!

Pea, I go on the Golden on 5/23. So I'm also looking forward to your report when you return. Heard any other rumors of any upgrades to the ship during dry dock?

Thanks,
Vicki

Just the regular stuff, painting, switching out carpets, beds. Also, they should be switching the southwest style restaurant to a Sterling Steakhouse.

Yuuummm! That sounds good. I've read on other threads that the Sterling Steakhouse is good. Probably won't have time to install the outside movie screen, but I wish they would. It sounds like fun.

Thanks for the reply Pea!

Vbrogdon,

If Beagles Rule... why do you have a Lab above your signature?

Salty Dawg

I thought it looked pretty close to my Beagle. The ears look more beagle-like than Lab to me. I guess it's a matter of interpretation. If I copied from you and you are offended, I appoligize. I just thought it was cute....

And yes, Beagles do rule!

Obviously, we agree the walking puppy is cute!

No apology is necessary for using it - how could we be offended by anyone posting such a lovable creature in their messages?

Salty Dawg,

That's a great site! I love that Bernese Mountain Dog. I took a quiz once that said if I were a dog, I would be a Bernese Mountain Dog. Thanks for sharing the address to the site. I'm pretty new at this. But I love reading all the threads. I look forward to checking CruiseMates several times a day -I really need to get a life :-).

Did you make the dog start "walking"? I thought it just stood still before.

I noticed you've been on the Golden a couple of times. I'm going 5/23 and I'm in a balcony cabin on Baja-B733. Any pictures or feedback to share? As you can see, I've only been on one cruise before, the Tropicale (very very old ship).

Thanks for your kindness!

Vicki

Is there a reason for all the dog talk on this msg board. I was under the assumption this was a cruise forum. Now to get back to my original questions could you please use a different way to talk about your dogs ( I love dogs too, but a different forum would be better ) Hope i'm not the only one who feels this way....

RJSMOM-
Did you get up on the wrong side of the bed today? You are correct that this is a CRUISE forum, however other subjects do get mentioned from time to time (i.e. new cars, pets, spouses, illness).

That being said, your original post includes HOTEL talk!

I thought I needed this cruise badly, but I think you need worse than me!

:-) Have a better day tomorrow!

Yes, I did read your original post. Otherwise how would I have known you were talking about hotels instead of cruises? I believe you you will read my post and those of Salty Dawg you will also see that most of the time we talk cruising talk.

Geez...talk about us going to another forum to talk about our dogs. I think you should be on another forum yourself...CRUISE GRIPES FORUM!

Looking forward to the cruise on the Golden on May 23 (had to mention "cruising" to be within your guidelines).

Hope your cruise is delightful too!

My husband and I are going to be on the 5/23 Golden cruise. Fourth cruise for us, but first Princess cruise. I have always wanted to see Aruba and have heard great things about Princess so that's how we decided on this cruise.

Have heard many say that they have gotten their final documents already, but unfortunately we haven't. We also decided to apply for passports since we had heard that Aruba was thinking about requiring them. We didn't want to wait until the last minute and find out they had changed their rules. Haven't received our passports yet either, so I have been checking my mail diligently lately.

Vicki, Just want to say that I love the Beagle picture. We had a beagle for 12 years until he passed away last year. I still miss him terribly!

Rose,
Thanks so much for your post! I'm so glad to meet another Beagle lover. My Beagle, Dixie is going on 9 years old this year. Being from Georgia, she had to have a good southern name. What was your Beagle's name? Aren't they the most loveable dogs?

I know what you mean about Aruba. That's all I've ever heard, how beautiful Aruba is. Well, I guess we'll find out, won't we?

I'm looking forward to the train excursion in St Kitts. It says it circles the entire island and each passenger gets a seat on the open-upper deck and on the air conditioned lower level.

Looking forward to great shopping in St Thomas too.

What deck are you on? We need to meet up on board....

Vicki

I can only remember two beagles. One was H.M.S. Beagle - Darwin's ship and the other was Beagle 2 the space explorer craft lost on Mars earlier this year. Maybe we should set up a message board to discuss these?! Not on a cruise forum though! In case you had not guessed I am not a dog lover and thank goodness the powers that be have not got around to letting them on cruise ships.
Cheers Paul

I hate to tell you this, but I heard through the grapevine that the new Cunard ship has a kennel onboard. Bring on the pooper scoopers.

I think we should call a truce and stop the "cattiness". I think you will find that every message board, no matter what topic, will have "off-subject" postings. But they always get back to the main topic at hand. So why get angry at each other when we are here to discuss something we are all looking forward to.

Ok, I will get off my soapbox now! Still looking forward to my cruise!

Rose i couldn't agree more , i love dogs too i just wanted to get a response to my questions, just thought we were getting a little off track. Salty dog - Your response with the pictures just shows how immature some people can be , and i'll just ignore it. Some dogs have more BRAINS.... at least mine does. he does his business OUTSIDE....

RJSMOM,

You're just jealous because my fur child is cuter, more intelligent & has a better disposition than you!
