Grand Princess Dry Dock

The Grand Princess is taking a little time off to be spruced up and outfitted with the new 300 square foot movie screen for "Movies Under The Stars".

I talked to a Princess rep yesterday and they said the Grand Princess would be in dry docked the first week of November.

She debuts with a fresh spit and polish makeover and will sail her first cruise with the big new screen from Galveston, Texas.

I'll check it out next February on the Pirates of the Texaribbean CruiseMates Cruise.

This is great news we will be on the Grand November 20th Thanksgiving week.
I hope it will be out of dry dock by then. How long does it take for them to finish
them when they are in dry dock?

Don't worry Dee Dee, she'll be in prime shape by the time your trip comes around.

It was my two cruises that were cancelled - 31OCT New York to San Juan and 06NOV San Juan to Galveston!

Oh well, we've already booked a replacement as well as a small 3-day trip up the Coast - come to think of it - those replacements have cost more - oh well, nothing a few sea days can't make up for

The 11/20 sailing of the Grand from Galveston is the third sailing after dry dock, so you should be safe deedee.

We will sailing the Grand with you for Thanksgiving!

This is great news that we'll have a spiffy new ship with at least one new toy to play with that week!

Merm, are they going to do the same retro-fit with the Movies under the Stars for the Golden? I know she is a couple of years younger than the Grand.

LisaK, Yes they are! The Grand, the Golden, and the Star according to the information I read on the Princess web site are to have the screen added. If you're interested in when the ships are scheduled for the retro-fit, just give Princess Cruises a call.

Oh No!

We just booked last week on the November 8th Grand Princess out of Galveston!
I hope it goes! If not do we get compensated?

Will Princess do anything special for this being their first Cruise out of Galveston?

Where is the Grand going to be drydocked?

I am soo excited that Princess Cruises is Comming to town!

I love RCCL but want something new!

Robert & Lisa, we'll be sailing on the 8th, too. We're part of a group signed up through a local AM business radio station that's sponsoring "The Money Game" on sea days. It's an investment game to learn about how the stock markets operate. Think they've reserved about 100 rooms on the ship. We'll be in a Cat. BB but don't know the deck yet.
