We always get flack from our families about how often we vacation. To us it's a way to renew and relax together away from the strains of everyday. We always come back to work refreshed and ready to work hard. I think it's a nice payoff. Cruises are definetly the most relaxing vacation we've found. How long ago did you sail on the Grand Sandy? We're exited, but know the other ships out of Galveston (RCI & Carnival) were a little dissappointing because they showed their age. What are your thoughts on the Grand, considering she will be refurbed right before we get on? Thanks!
I was on the Grand Princess May 2000, Eastern Caribbean out of Ft. Lauderdale. The ship was beautiful, We had a Mini Suite, we were celebrating our Anniversary (early)
We were with 2 other couples, and we all had a wonderful time, Everything was great from the Food, service, entertainment etc.
The Grand will being going into Dry Dock before the November sailings out of Galveston and get a "make over" They will add the Movie Screen out by the Pool area.
Probably update the bedding, drapes in the cabins and in the public areas. I'm not sure if it's on the Grand Princess, but Talking to a Princess Rept. There was mention of a few resturants (Desert Rose or Southwest Rest being changed to Sterling Steak House. Not sure which ship or ships!
I'm sure that before we go, we know what's new. I"ll try and let you know once I find out
all thats new on the ships.
