Default Staterooms

Is the 700$ differece between an inside stateroom and a balcony worth it?

Hi Blfinner,
IMHO, YES.....Once you've cruised with a balcony, you will always, at least that holds true for me :-)

A balcony is great. We've had 2 of them. First cruise started with a picture window. Then 2nd cruise, were upgraded to a humongous cabin with a balcony (that spoiled us). Then we paid for an inside and got an inside. Quite small, no windows. Then we went to a completely aft balcony. I enjoyed that ,and this upcoming cruise have paid for an inside cabin. No expectations for a balcony.A window would be nice. My husband looks at the cost factor.Sometimes we opted for the more inexpensive room and were pleasantly surprised by an upgrade.Last year's cruise, we paid twice as much as we usually do for the aft balcony-on a different line.Back to Princess this time again. Usually, when we finally get frazzled with price differences we decide to get an inexpensive cabin just to get on the ship!! Lynne

that's quite a price jump, you can do better than that.- look for balconies on the same deck as your inside or just go up a deck or two. We love our balcony and will only book a balcony cabin.

We also like to be able to see out the window. Had a balcony once and now opted for one again 5/23 Golden. Hubby isn't too impressed with a balcony but the price was good. Why choose an oceanview when a balcony is cheaper?? The difference between oceanview and balcony for us was around 300, I think well worth it. I know people who only take inside it all depends on what you want and can afford. I agree with Lynne with all the prices and differences it gets soooo confusing. i think I'll stick with my TA who seems to know what she is talking about but then what do I know:-)
