I will be travelling on the Caribbean Princess on August 14 to St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and Princess Cays. I am an avid snorkeler, but am interested in what everyone has to say about other activities in these ports. I want to know people's opinions rather than simply relying on Princess' website, among others.
Price comparisons in all 3? For shopping? Excursions?
Also, if you have any newly updated info on the Caribbean Princess, I would love to hear about it, such as any new activities they have added since the inaugural sailing.
we did the same itineary as yours in Feb on the Golden Princess.
St. Maarten - we took the Golden Eagle Catamaran tour - great tour. The snorkeling is decent as the guides go out and feed the fish and they tell you where to snorkel. Have heard from many that the snorkeling is better on Pineal Island off of St. Maarten. St. Maarten has some beautiful beaches to explore and great shopping.
Part of our group decided to try SCUBA diving for the first time, they loved it, sunken wrecks to explore.
St.Thomas - wonderful snorkeling over on St. John Island. Trunk Bay is the most popular with its marked snorkel trail - tends to get very crowded. We choose Cinnamon Bay Beach which is basically next door, not as fancy , much less crowded. The water is crystal clear and there is a nice reef just off shore with a good assortment of marine life.
St. Thomas is also a great shopping port.
Princess Cays - beach party day. We just hung out on the beach and relaxed, lots of water sports activities, didn't snorkel here but saw quite a few passengers snorkeling.
