Default On board payment

Does anyone know if you can use your Debit card (a card that deducts money from your checking account right away) for your on board purchases, or should we use credit cards?
Thanks for any answers,
Manny

check with your bank on the maximum daily amount you can withdraw from your debit card before you give it them, personally I prefer a credit card at least you can dispute any changes just in case your card number gets out there in public. I am sure Princess does its best to prevent this but you never can be too careful.

Are you talking about purchases in the boutiques, etc? I thought that the ship card was used for all purchases and put on your account. At check-in I think the question is asked in the Terminal about what limit you want to put on the charge card.In our case, it would be used for extra funds in the Casino. Lynne

You can use a debit card, but as someone stated above, a credit card is disbutable, which a debit card may not be. While some banks treat debit cards with CC logos such as Master Card and VISA almost the same as credit cards, meaning if lost or stolen you will not be charged for the amounts charged, some debit card companies do not have that policy and if your bank account gets wiped out, your money is gone.

I would only use a credit card. Many people don't like the idea of a credit card. But, if you only have one and only use it for this purpose, you can take the money from your bank account/debit account and pay it off right away, as you would have had the money immediately anyway with the debit card.
