Our group just got off of the newer Princess ships (Golden) and had a wonderful trip. No real complaints.
We are going on our next Princess cruise, the Sun in December, realizing that this ship belongs to a different class than the Golden.
Question:
Only thing we would have liked to have seen on the Golden was that the sauna/steam rooms exited out onto the pool area. which meant they were not private. Though there were seperate mens and womens facilities, they had glass doors that were visible to passer-bys, which meant you really could not enjoy the facilities with just a towel draped around you. We had been used to other ships, in which the steam/saunas were located inside the mens and women locker rooms, which enabled you to wear just a towel (or nothing if you wanted), and had lockers and plenty of showers.
For those who have been on the Sun or any of her sister ships, are the sauna/steam facilities similar in lay out as to the Golden and the newer Princess ships, or are the facilities private, and located within the mens and womens change areas.
