Our vote goes to improving the Personal Choice procedure. On our last cruise on the Grand we had to stand in line and wait,as the 2 tops were full.We eventually got back to a table for 2 way in the back by a wait station, or sat with a large table. I think I've heard that there are specific Dining Rooms on the Caribbean Princess for Personal Choice. Is that right? Trevor would like a poker room in the Casino! Lynne
I would add accessible mini suites. Sometimes we pay more for an accessible balcony than other folks do for a mini. We need a shower, rather than a tub, and none of the mini suites have them. I know you all love your tubs, but maybe we could have just TWO or FOUR minis with showers. I know the full suites have showers AND tubs, but that ups the ante more than we are comfortable with.
Did you know that the mini-suites on the sun Class ships (The Dawn and the Sun - and I hear the Sea Princess is coming back to the fleet) are the same as the full suites on the Grand Class ships. So - there is a tub and a separate shower.
Even though the Sapphire Princess cruise was sold as an " ALASKAN " cruise they should cut down the time spent in Skagway and add a few hours to the Canadian visit to Victoria . We ate on board in the empty Vivaldi dining room from 5 to 6 pm , like Kings + Queens , then walked calmly down the ramp ( no lines , no waiting ) through Canadian customs to a waiting double decker English style bus for $ 5.00 Canadian per person all night pass , no charge for children under 13. We visited the first ever established Chinatown in the downtown area . Make sure you get your passports stamped ( nice permanent memento of your Canadian visit ).
I keep reading about objections to the personal choice dining and must add that our group of 6 had no problems whatsoever with this " NEW " procedure . We ate at all hours of the day with never a line, a wait , a rude waiter or any of the complaints I've read . Like anything in life , one learns from their mistakes so dont be the first to stand up when the plane lands , or wait behind someone getting salad in the buffet line if you dont eat salad ( just walk around them ) If soup is not part of your diet , why would you wait in the soup line ? Again , just walk around , and PLEASE dont preach about etiquette, because good breeding teaches one to go around and not cause unnecessary waits for hundreds of hungry folks .
Thanks, DianeT...............DID know about the minis on the Sun Class being like the full suites on the Grand Class................only downside is that the minis on the Sun Class are priced like the full suites on the Grand, too! They sure look beautiful though................
Wow, lots of good things to learn by. We have not cruised Princess yet but will be taking our 1st in Oct on the Sapphire. I do hope the coffee is good, kinda scary that everyone complains about the coffee on Princess. I would like to see the ship in port longer on our stops in Mexico. Seems like they don't have us scheduled long enough.
Have a great cruise all!!
Carnival Splendor (3 days of towing back to port)
You have already given the cruise line big profits when you booked your excursion thru the cruise line.Have you ever cosidered what their profit % is on your shore trip? D o not think they care how long you are on shore as profits already taken and less meals to serve.
Sapphire Princess only serves piping hot Columbian coffee , a welcome change from that bitter tasting Starbucks we had to endure for 2 days in Seattle prior to our cruise . They even give you as many packs as you need in your room that comes with a state of the art coffe maker -HELLO!
